Over the summer I read The Death of Bees by Lisa O'Donnell. This book was very grim, raw, and sad. But that for me is just what I need to keep me reading. Each character is unique in their own way. Marnie, the oldest sister, is kind of wild, beastly, and never can make the right decision. Nelly, the younger sister, is very proper and acts as if she's in a different reality. And the last one Lennie, is who takes care of the girls and offers lots of love in his own kind of way. In this book every chapter is told by either one of those 3. Which carries along the book by showing the situation from each perspective. And it makes the plot interesting because each character deals with it in their own way. Right from the beginning when their parents died and they had to keep it a secret. To the end of them figuring out where to move on with life and let go.
