We Were Liars is still just a great book. Cadence is still telling her story of her summers on the island. With adventures and scary situations. I am about half way through and I still like it just as much when I started. I wanted to write about something a little different this week rather than the usual. The author E. Lockhart uses great vocab and diction that luckily since I have my kindle I can look it up right then and there. For example she uses the word suboptimal. I have never heard this word before, but she writes, "He looks at his hands, "Okay. Sorry. That was extremely suboptimal of me just now. Are you angry?" (pg 86) I couldn't even use context clues on this one. But it means- of less than the highest standard or quality.
Another example is the word idyll. Strangest word I think Ive ever heard. And idyll means- an extremely happy, peaceful period or situation. "No summer like we idyll used to have." (pg. 81), E. Lockhart writes. There are many more but those 2 just stood out to me the most.

This sounds like a really interesting book and I love when authors use great vocab and diction because it sounds much more professional. I like that you wrote about what made this book so great because you can also use it in your own writing to make it more interesting.
